Welcome to New York City
New York City, one of the most populated places on earth and a world centre for commerce, finance, media, fashion and art to name but a few things. NYC is made up of five boroughs, all famous in their own right; The Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens and Staten Island. A diverse culture of over 8 million people with an estimated 800 languages spoken in the city. Approximately 50 million visitors arrive in New York City every year and the Statue of Liberty is the American icon that greets each and every one.
Welcome to the Ritz Carlton
The Ritz Carlton is a 5 star hotel in midtown Manhattan and provides grand views of the world famous Central Park. The Ritz Carlton is a 33 story hotel and boasts a wide array of awards and commendations including Forbes Five Star 2013, AAA Five Diamond 2012 and Condé Nast Traveler: Gold List 2012.
Afternoon tea at the Ritz Carlton takes place in the truly opulent Star Lounge (pictured) which has the feel of an 18th century English country house. The lavish environment of dark woods, exquisitely ornate furnishings and soft lighting make this a step into a world gone-by.
The Star Lounge is known for its legendary bartender of over 30 years, Norman Bukofzer, who helps to bring a refined ambience to this perfect setting for afternoon tea.
The attention to detail on the Ritz Carlton's afternoon tea is fabulous. The sandwiches alone feature a veritable array of delights. Egg salad, black truffle, pain de mie along with cucumber and dill, Greek yoghury creme fraiche and pumper nickel. The authenticity of the afternoon tea is guaranteed with homemade scones, fruit preserves and Devonshire cream. Truly delightful!
