Bonham Hotel
When considering the name for their new bar The Bonham Hotel decided to go back to the building’s roots. The Lounge & Library reflect the heritage of the building at 35 Drumsheugh Gardens which was once a private clinic established by surgeons, Captain Henry Wade of the Scottish Horse Mounted Brigade and Professor David Wilkie of Edinburgh University.

In the early 20th century, surgeons were not paid by hospitals and were forbidden from accepting money, so these doctors offered their services voluntarily and made their money through private clinics. Many patients would have been helped in the building which is now The Bonham.
