House Restaurant National Theatre Afternoon Tea Menu

Curtain Up
The Perfect 'Blendship' Bellini
Peaches and fizz - always good friends, now the perfect 'blendship'.
(Anything Goes)

Act 1
Lady Bracknell Triangles
Cucumber and cream cheese sandwiches on brown bread.
Not to be eaten until Aunt Augusta arrives.
(The Importance of Being Earnest)

The Guvnor Sandwich
As offered up in One Man, Two Guv'nors: a hummus sandwich - but this one with added French beans and roasted red pepper, on wholemeal bread.

Thing 1 and Thing 2
There are two things in these sandwiches: green eggs and ham, of course.
Don't panic, it's just a dash of watercress mayonnaise.
(The Cat in the Hat)

Mrs Lovett's Pie
A deliciously crumbly pork and onion pie - more wholesome than Sweeney Todd's.

Interval
Interval ice cream
Take a refreshing break from the action, with a choice of vanilla, strawberry or honeycomb ice cream.
Wait for the twist.

Act 2
A Marble Mouthful
Eliza Doolittle had to speak around a mouthful of marbles. Our marble cake is much easier to chew and far more enjoyable.
(My Fair Lady)

A Taste of Honey Layer Cake
A sweet treat made with honey from our very own beehives on the theatre roof.

NT and Scones
An unmissable classic: baby scones with rich clotted cream and home-made preserves.

All served with a selection of organic Birchall teas, freshly ground Mozzo coffee and fruit/herbal infusions.

£26.50 per person
